Fired Up About Our New Features!

We’ve been busy! Check out SlingStudio’s latest release to change the way you create and produce content and livestream events. There’s something for everyone, whether you’re a one-person show wanting to produce like a multi-person crew or aspiring to be the next on-air weather personality!

Make Them Green with Envy

Have you ever wished you could transform your surroundings during your shoot—maybe to relax on a tropical beach, float in outer space or predict the weather with a huge map? Our cool new Chroma key functionality lets you easily use a green screen to create these scenarios.

Put Your Graphics in Motion

It’s now possible to overlay motion graphics with SlingStudio and have an opportunity to boost your brand. Bring your graphics in either as imported video clips or through your laptop connected by a direct HDMI In or CameraLink. Motion graphics can be created with tools like Adobe After Effects or Adobe Premier using motion graphics templates.

Auto-Switching Lets You Star and Direct

Our new auto-switching function gives you the stage completely when the talent (you!) and the director (also you!) are the same—like teaching how to paint or showcasing a killer drum session. With this feature, you can set a custom timed interval for switching between camera angles or use voice-activated switching to automatically jump between speakers during a conversation. By freeing you up to manage other aspects of your production, like operating cameras or managing graphics on the fly, this feature adds another level of versatility to the SlingStudio platform.

Create In-Room Presence at Video Conferences

Add multi-camera voice activated switching to your video conferencing systems like Zoom or Skype for a more engaging meeting experience and collaboration.  We’ve also solved for delays to help keep your meetings on track. With our latest updates, you’ll achieve the lowest delay between the real-time camera input and HDMI output of the SlingStudio hub for a virtually seamless video conference.

We have even more exciting updates to come – subscribe to this blog for future SlingStudio announcements!

Thank you, thank you!! I’m ecstatic about this update. This will make my live stream so much easier, more flexible, and higher quality. I may finally be able to ditch OBS.

  2. How do I update the software on my Sling Studio?

Question for you guys : I just noticed the reference to Skype… can you add a Skype video call in as a sling studio video source? In other words, can a Skype video call become part of a broadcast and be switched just like any other live interview ?

    • slingstudioblog says:

Hi Sebastien – Yes, a Skype video call can be a source when fed through a laptop or PC via HDMI.

When can we expect Windows compatibility? I’m heavily invested in Windows tools and I’d love to use Sling Studio in my projects.

Hi – we continue to explore various options for our future roadmap items. Your post production work can currently be done on a windows device, and you can also capture video with android devices. The main console app is currently operated via iPAD (we sometimes even use the iPAD mini or inexpensive iPAD models), or a MAC computer.

So, when could we expect an Android console app, or a web-based console app? The main desire here is to be able to control SlingStudio with some device other than an iPad.

Hi – this is something on our roadmap, but in the meantime the console can also be control on a macbook or mac computer.

I am having trouble using the console app on my Mac mini. It is a Mac mini (Late 2014), with a 3 GHz Intel Core i7, the memory is 16 GB 1600 MHz DDR3, and graphics is an Intel Iris 1536 MB. I called the Sling Studio help line but the technician couldn’t find the problem. Does anyone have any idea what the problem could be? I went through all the basic reboot, reload app with technician. I enjoy the Sling Studio but I’m not crazy about the iPad.

    • slingstudioblog says:

Hi Jon – The Mac Mini is on our list of compatible devices – I’ll privately message you and put you in touch with one of our experts. We’d need a little more info to help you troubleshoot on the challenge you are experiencing with your console app.

      Thank you,
